Baby Barrett 35 Weeks

Size of the baby: Baby Barrett is now the size of a watermelon approx.. 19 - 22  inches long & approx 6 1/2lbs.

Total Weight Gain/loss: I have gained 22lbs (as of my last doctors appointment).  My belly is  growing everyday.  I swear when I wake up the morning it has grown overnight.  The last couple times I have been measuring two weeks big so it appears will be having a fairly good size little peanut =)
According to the doctor he is hoping I am in the 50% who deliver before their due date otherwise I may be delivering a 10lb. baby!  YIKES!

Maternity Clothes:  I can still wear a VERY few of my longer shirts, but ALL of my pants are now maternity or stretchy yoga pants.   I am quickly running out of options.  Thank goodness the last couple weekends have been nice enough to wear dresses.

Gender: SURPRISE!! We are not going to find out till Baby Barrett arrives in May!  Every time I am out and about I run into someone who has an opinion about what we are having.

Movement: Definitely have been feeling movement.  Baby B is moving all day long now.  It is such an amazing feeling to feel baby flipping and kicking all day long.  At our ultrasound they confirmed that Baby B is head down and ready to go =).  I think Baby B is definitely beginning to get a little cramped in there because some of the little kicks and jabs are starting to hurt.  The funniest things are the hiccups I have been feeling which seem to be a lot more common lately.

Sleep: Not getting much anymore.  Sleep has become a very precious commodity.

What I miss: Not having smells literally have me running for the bathroom.  Not getting heartburn.  Being able to see my feet when I walk.

Cravings: Ummm... Nothing really in particular lately. I am still working on trying to get in 100 grams of protein a day and let me tell you, that is is not an easy thing to do.

Symptoms: Just more and more Braxton Hicks contractions.  It's such a strange feeling to have your whole stomach tighten and contort into weird positions.

Best moment this week: Well it hasn't happened yet but we have two baby showers this weekend one today and one tomorrow and it will be so fun to celebrate baby b =).

Nursery Reveal

We finally have all the pieces of Baby B's nursery all put together.  And if I do say so myself it looks fabulous!  I am totally in love.  I find myself stopping in the doorway every time I go down the hall just to admire it.
The nursery used to be our guestroom, which has now moved into what used to be the office, which has now been moved into our bedroom.  Who knew one little person could cause so many things to change =).
Hubs and I got started on the nursery super early in the pregnancy.  We added the white wainscoting first and crown molding.  Then hubs painted and stained the crib and the changing table (which was mine when I was a baby).
The next thing I found was the perfect gender neutral bedding at Pottery Barn, purchased by my amazing mother (Baby B is very lucky to be getting such an amazing grandma).
Our original thought had been to buy a viynl tree decal to add some dimension to the room.  But after hours of searching I was unable to come up with anything I liked.  Luckily, one of my Aunt's best friends from high school, who happens to be extremely talented, was in town and agreed to paint a tree on the nursery wall.  I showed her a few different photos that I liked on pinterest and she came up with a unique design, incorporating a few aspects of each photo.  It turned out incredibly!

And she added the most adorable branch on the opposite wall to tie it all together.
The rocking chair (which was also mine when I was a baby) and the beautiful cornice box, which mimics the curve of the crib, were both upholstered by my mom's upholstery shop and were the perfect finishing touches to the room.

Now all we need is Baby B =)

Best moment this week: Well the sunshine coming out has made this week phenomenal, sun really makes me happy!  But I would say the best moment of this week was going to our doctor's appointment and hearing Baby B's heartbeat, there is just nothing like that sound!

I LOVE the spring time.  Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays because it's very relaxed and you just get to spend time with the people you love!  This year we went up to my family's cabin out of Placerville and spent the day with my side of the family and hubs parents too.  It was the perfect day.  It was even warm enough to get a little sun (which always makes me happy).
Katie Lynn & I soaking up the sun

My adorable mother decided it would be fun to organize an adult easter egg hunt, since we don't have any little kidlets around (but that will all change next year).  She hid candy, money and even a few bottles of wine and sent us all off on the hunt.

We all came back with quite a bit of loot and had a lot of fun hunting.

I know I have mentioned before how much I truly love my family.  I always feel so blessed when I am with them.  I know that I am truly lucky to have such an amazing group of people who are not only my friends but also my relatives.  And I know that Baby B is so blessed to be a part of this amazing family.

Best moment this week: I would have to say it was going to our Ultrasound on Monday and finding out that the low lying placenta has moved up and we won't be having to schedule a C-section for Baby B.  I literally was on cloud 9 the entire day after that!
