Baby Barrett 26 Weeks

How Far Along: 26 Weeks

Size of the baby: Baby Barrett is now the size of a cucumber, approx.. 15 inches long & approx 2.2lbs.

Total Weight Gain/loss: I have gained 10lbs (as of my last doctors appointment, I don't really want to get on the scale at home).  My belly is  growing everyday.  I swear when I wake up the morning it has grown overnight.

Maternity Clothes:  I can still wear some of my longer shirts, but most of my pants are now maternity or stretchy yoga pants.  However, I have found that now that my belly is bigger I can use the belly band to hold up some of my non maternity pants, yay for more wardrobe options =).  I am still totally in LOVE with leggings and sweaters.

Gender: SURPRISE!! We are not going to find out till Baby Barrett arrives in May!  We have lots of guessing going on in the family, right now we are pretty split.

Movement: Definitely have been feeling movement.  Baby B is moving all day long now.  It is such an amazing feeling to feel baby flipping and kicking all day long.  Hubs loves to feel Baby B move.  First thing he does in the morning is roll over and poke at my stomach until Baby B kicks his hand.  I would be mad because usually I am still trying to sleep but he starts laughing so much I don't have the heart to be upset =)  This weekend, I also got to share Baby B's movement with the family, it was quite amazing!
My cousin Alisa and her boyfriend feeling Baby B move around

Sleep: Not so bad.  I am obsessed with my new pregnancy body pillow.  If you are pregnant and don't have a snoogle run out and by one.

What I miss: Not having smells literally have me running for the bathroom.  Not getting heartburn.

Cravings: Ummm... I am back to Mexican food once again.  Apparently Baby B is going to be quite a fan =)

Symptoms: Actually nothing new this week.  I went and did my 3 hour glucose tolerance test today, which was not as bad as I had expected given the rumors I had heard.  But I am definitely glad it's over and hope that I pass so I don't have to do it again =)

Best moment this week: Sharing Baby B's movement with my whole family on Saturday night.  It was so amazing to have everyone get to feel Baby B move.  And even more amazing to see the smiles and joy spread across their faces each time they felt a kick or a punch.

Valentine's Day 2012

Unfortunately this year, since the first time Brian & I have been together he was unable to be home for Valentine's Day.  He was away on a business trip in Washington, D.C.  Which of course I was very sad about because I've been missing him like crazy.  But luckily I have some amazing people in my life who made my day extra special.  First of course my kiddos gave me so many gifts, I felt extra special.  Look at all the adorable stuff I got.  I felt so very loved!  And Baby B will of course enjoy all the candy =).
Also incredibly my hubs, who does not believe in flowers (I've only gotten them once the entire time we have been together) sent me flowers to work.  Oh AND not only did he send me flowers, he sent flowers to my sister, who was my Valentine's Date.  And as he said in her card a wonderful sister in law.  Aren't the flowers beautiful?  I was over the moon excited!

These beautiful flowers came from my family!  They are very very lovely as well!  I am such a lucky girl!
Then to top of a wonderful day, my beautiful sister came and spent the evening with me.  She's one of the most incredible people I know.  I feel so lucky that she was able to come spend Valentine's Day with me.  We had our own special drinks.  Mine non alcoholic of course.
Then we made a wonderful dinner of fresh grilled asparagus, salmon and brown rice.
And as if the evening wasn't wonderful enough, we finished it off with chocolate fondue!
It was a wonderful evening!  I am so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life.

Sleep: Not so bad.  I am obsessed with my new pregnancy body pillow.  If you are pregnant and don't have a snoogle run out and by one.  You will never be so glad to have spent $40 on a pillow.

What I miss: Not having smells literally have me running for the bathroom.  Not getting heartburn.

Cravings: Ummm... nothing in particular this week.  Although I am quite excited about all the chocolate and candy I know I will be getting tomorrow from my little kiddos at school =)

Symptoms: Actually nothing new this week.  I think Baby B has been listening to my constant chatter and decided to move off of the nerve in my back.  Thank you very much little one =).

Best moment this week: Well hubs left Saturday morning for a week long trip to Washington, D.C. (yes over Valentine's Day).  But on the bright side I got to go and spend the whole weekend with my parents and my sister.  It was wonderful!  My sister and I went out to dinner and Sunday the four of us just hung out and relaxed.  It was a great weekend.
